Location: Tulsa
Reports to: Director of Fire Protection Engineering
Team: Fire Protection Engineering
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Protection Safety, Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering preferred
Experience: Strong working knowledge of AutoSPRINK (Solidworks, HydraCAD and SprinkCAD transferrable), AutoCAD, Revit
Professional: Working knowledge of the National Fire Protection Associate (NFPA), International Building Code (IBC), International Fire Code (IFC), National Electric Code (NEC) and other appropriate codes and standards. NICET Certification is preferred.
The primary function of the Fire Protection Designer is to work independently or collaboratively, using standard techniques and materials within the industry, to design and develop computer assisted drawings (CAD, Revit, etc.) for the purpose of communicating engineering ideas/plans to team members, clients or construction workers. The Fire Protection Designer is responsible for preparing drawings and specifications for fire suppression and alarm systems. This position can be remote from Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Nebraska or Utah.
