Cynet Systems is Hiring a Technical Writer Near Tempe, AZ

Job Description:

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills through proficient writing to effectively manage and convey information across all project phases.
  • Provide clear, transparent, and regular updates on project statuses, showcasing exceptional project management skills.
  • Collaborate with project managers to apply technical communication in developing digital solutions that meet the needs of global customers.
  • Independently lead and manage system commissioning projects from inception to completion, ensuring smooth turnover to the project execution team.
  • Review design documents, drawings, and specifications with engineers to develop building control system sequences and equipment submittals.
  • Participate in meetings to enhance system sequences and generate pre-functional checklists for equipment verification.
  • Facilitate meetings to identify discrepancies, generate test reports, and ensure quality control throughout project phases.
  • Write system-specific functional performance test scripts and coordinate performance testing with project teams and subject matter experts.
  • Document system readiness, functionality testing, commissioning, and integrated system tests.
  • Generate and maintain Commissioning issues reports, expediting issue resolution.
  • Verify equipment and system start-up work and integrate testing and commissioning activities into a master schedule.
  • Solve complex problems related to system function, user experience, and training.
  • Contribute to retrospective lessons learned, stakeholder analysis, and process development.
  • Develop tools for various user profiles, demonstrating cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Demonstrate strong technical aptitude and a solution-oriented approach to content creation.
  • Exhibit strong oral and written communication skills across various mediums.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent research, interview, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of building automation systems, security, and fire alarms is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite (Word, Excel, Project).
  • Familiarity with commissioning flow, functional verification, and integrated testing.
  • Ability to work independently within a remote team and produce documents autonomously.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to new projects and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Flexibility to adjust priorities dynamically and respond professionally.
  • Familiarity with DITA structured documentation is a plus.
  • A bachelor's degree in a technical field is preferred; an advanced degree in technical communication is advantageous.
  • Alternatively, 5 years of experience in technical writing or 10 years of experience in construction, building automation, commissioning, fire alarm, or security.
  • Knowledge of software/electrical/mechanical system testing, excellent writing skills, and document management expertise.
