CymaBay Therapeutics is Hiring a Senior Director, HCP Marketing – Liver Disease Near Newark, CA

An exciting opportunity to join CymaBay as Senior Director, HCP Marketing – Liver Disease. This position will lead the HCP launch strategy and campaign execution for CymaBay’s flagship product, seladelpar, for the treatment of Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC)and reports directly to the Head of Marketing.
The Senior Director, HCP Marketing, will be a high visibility position, acting as the Brand Ambassador for the PBC healthcare provider community, key opinion leaders, and Centers of Excellence (CoEs) and for the Sales Force and the broader CymaBay organization.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develops and leads the launch of the HCP marketing strategy and campaign for seladelpar that drives clear differentiation in a competitive marketspace and behavioral change across all HCP segments.
  • Develops aligned KOL strategy across Commercial and Medical Affairs
  • Leads HCP strategy and key functional responsibilities for sales force promotions, KOL development and management, and other multichannel HCP engagement.
  • Leads market research and advisory board strategy to inform HCP insights, messaging and campaign development.
  • Develops Core Campaign Assets for personal and non-personal promotion, such as Core Visual Aid and other sales force materials.
  • Drives implementation of branded campaign across omnichannel tactics, with specific focus on the sales force execution.
  • Leads national and regional advisory boards across HCP audience in support of insights, recommendations, and advice supporting brand strategy and tactical execution.
  • Works closely with Sales Operations and Training to develop Launch Playbook, Objection Handling, and Competitor Counter-Selling Guide.
  • Drives brand performance through high-level sales force engagement, establishing formal groups such as a Marketing Taskforce, as well as participating in sales leadership meetings.
  • Delivers high brand awareness and intent-to-prescribe across HCP segments and target patient profiles and measured through ATU, message recall, and other tracking.
  • Works closely with Associate Director, HCP Marketing and Omnichannel Director to ensure campaign strategy is implemented HCP channels.
  • Ensure integrated brand strategy with Medical Affairs and Market Access.
  • Sets appropriate marketing mix of investments/channels, defining value metrics, timelines, and customer targets. Monitors and supports brand performance including KPIs, ROI and overall tracking.
  • Runs partner agency relationships, workflow, and related expense budgets.
  • Ensures all HCP marketing materials are approved on time for promotional launch.
  • Presents launch strategy and plan-of-action (POA) presentations at Launch Meetings and National Sales Meetings.
Minimum Skills Requirement
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field.
  • 15 years of validated experience in the pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry
  • 8 years of experience in pharma/biotech marketing.
  • Prior leadership experience in US in-line HCP marketing and commercial strategy.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and technical members to achieve outcomes.
Desirable Skills/Experience
  • Relevant therapeutic area experience: rare disease, liver, or immunology
  • US launch experience in a competitive market space
  • Experience in global product strategy
  • Prior sales leadership experience, preferably in specialty medicine
  • Prior campaign development experience
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • In-depth Marketing experience (developing brand strategy, performing positioning, messaging, segmentation, targeting, managing ad agency, providing direction on annual budget planning)
The anticipated annual salary range for candidates who will work in Newark, California is $250-275K. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. CymaBay is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
