Job Description: Cydecor is seeking a proactive Software Quality Assurance Test Manager to manage a team and perform verification and validation testing of web-based enterprise applications, including front end and back-end testing.In this role, you will have the opportunity to write, execute, and maintain software test plans, and manually test software as part of a Software Development Team, following test instructions in a test document. This could include automated tests or unit tests, as directed.
Role and Responsibilities include:
  • Manage a team with effective leadership and communication skills.
  • Serve as subject matter specialist providing testing know-how for the support of user requirements of complex to highly complex software/hardware applications.
  • Communicate and work with developers, project managers, and technical support specialists on product issues.
  • Continuously adapt to evolving process guidance to support both the project and the test constituency.
  • Design, develop, evaluate and update test scenarios, test plans, and test procedures as necessary.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand product specifics and create corresponding test strategies.
  • Manage and oversee system integration testing, functional testing, regression testing, and performance testing.
  • Develop executable test procedures for interface testing, device testing, data migration testing, and other areas required by the project.
  • Create project resource estimates, define metrics to track completion phase, defect reports, defect prevention, development efficiency, and quality.
  • Write detailed test cases with expected results for various scenarios including positive and negative testing.
  • Execute testing on both web front-end systems and back-end database systems.
Here's what you need:
  • Direct experience managing teams both onsite and remote preferred.
  • Advanced experience with capturing and analyzing metrics pertaining to sprint and release effort.
  • Web Development (HTML/CSS/JavaScript)
  • Source control (GIT)
  • Agile software methodologies including core ceremonies (Scrum, Backlog, Planning, Review and Retrospective
  • Advanced understanding of test plans/cases, regression/exploratory testing and requirements/defect tracking software (Azure, JIRA, etc.)
  • Advanced SQL skills (Draft/edit complex queries as a part of test cases)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with working with teams in a fast-paced and quality driven environment.
  • Personal drive and initiative
  • Technical certifications a plus but not required (e.g., Microsoft Azure or other Cloud certifications).
Bonus Points if you have:
  • Understanding of DoD contracts and/or military experience desired
  • Automated Testing (e.g. Selenium, coded implementation) a plus
Education:
  • BS (CS or Engineering preferred) plus 8 years of experience OR 10 years combined education and direct experience.
Work Schedule:
  • Hybrid (Mark Center Alexandria and Remote)
