Job Purpose/Responsibilities:

Cybrexa is seeking an independent and self-motivated part time (12-16 hours a week) animal care technician to assist in mouse and rat animal husbandry. Reporting to the Director of Biology, the Animal Care Technician will provide routine care to research animals including feeding and watering, monitoring vivarium environmental conditions, observing daily appearances and behaviors of experimental animals, assisting with dosing and collection of blood and other tissues and performing other duties as assigned. This role will be highly collaborative across different departments of Cybrexa. The Animal Care Technician will onsite and located in our New Haven headquarters/labs.

Requirements:

• AA or BS degree in animal science or related science preferred, but not necessary.
• The candidate should be capable of performing basic animal care duties with guidance, with the ability to be trained to achieve AALAS ALAT certification.
• Effective verbal and written communication capabilities.
• A clear and organized thought process, with attention to detail and a high-quality work ethic are essential.
