What You Will Be Doing

• Sampling, processing, and testing materials used in the production of Hot Mix Asphalt in accordance with AASHTO, ASTM, DOT, and FAA
• Advising on updates to company QC plan and enforcement of said plan
• Preparing and maintaining daily progress reports, QC charts, and testing records
• Performing physical tests of the volumetrics at the plant and in the field as required
• Communicating with Plant Operators, Field Superintendents, State Hwy Officials and Customer Engineering Representatives as needed
• Gathering samples and materials to send off to 3rd parties for mix design
• Advising on mixture blend changes
• Other tasks as required

What You Need for this Position

• 5 years of related paving industry experience and :
• Trade school or 4 year degree
• Certified (Agg Field Lab and Asphalt Mix Tester)
• Prior experience with DOT projects
• Prior experience with mix design for public and private sector projects
• Ability to read and interpret engineering specs
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local guidelines
