CyberCoders is Hiring a Procurement Specialist Near Bridgewater, MA

We have risen over the last four generations to become one of the largest family owned industrial pvf houses in New England. As the premier distributor of industrial pipe, we represent the top suppliers in providing a comprehensive product range: pipe, strainers, backflow preventers, steam traps, commercial equipment, valves, instrumentation, fittings & flanges, fire protection and specialties such as gaskets, pipe tools and machines, expansion joints and more.
As a Procurement Specialist at our company, your primary focus will be managing the purchasing process, including orders and transfers between our eight branches. You'll work closely with vendors to ensure timely delivery, while maintaining an updated product database. Coordinating with the sales team across locations is essential to meet inventory expectations and capture customer demand. Additionally, you'll handle price changes, discrepancies, and inquiries related to incoming materials.
  • Supplier Management:
  • Maintain relationships with existing suppliers while monitoring performance metrics.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and other factors.
  • Analyze pricing trends, market conditions and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Purchase Planning:
  • Collaborate closely with vendors, sales team, and warehouse management to ensure timely delivery of materials, mitigating any potential stock shortages.
  • Forecast demand and ensure adequate inventory levels to meet organizational needs while minimizing surplus.
  • Develop and implement inventory optimization strategies to enhance inventory levels, reduce stockouts, and minimize carrying costs while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Sourcing and Procurement:
  • Generate and manage transfers and purchase orders across our eight locations.
  • Obtain quotes and proposals from suppliers and evaluate them to select the most suitable options.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify inefficiencies in procurement process and implement improvements to streamline operations and increase efficiency.
  • Utilize Technology to enhance workflows and reduce manual tasks.
  • System maintenance:
  • Maintain an updated product database with accurate pricing and detailed product catalogue information.
  • Verify and implement price changes promptly, resolving any discrepancies with vendors as needed.
  • Facilitate the addition of new or existing products to branch inventories based on manager requests.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with corporate team, including purchasing, finance and operations to align procurement strategies with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Address inquiries and resolve issues regarding incoming materials in coordination with receiving managers and purchasing clerk.
  • Provide guidance and support to colleagues on procurement-related matters, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a procurement or purchasing role, demonstrating a solid understanding of procurement processes.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities coupled with a keen intellect and a strong desire to continuously learn and improve.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, with the ability to manipulate data efficiently and effectively.
  • Self-motivated individual with the capacity to work autonomously and make informed decisions.
  • Prior experience within the pipes, valves, and fittings (PVF) industry is preferred but not required.
