Role and Responsibilities
CW Group is seeking Proposal Writer to assist with the development of proposals and grants. Reporting to the Proposal Manager, the Proposal Writer will write technical proposals, prepare supporting documentation and reports to meet grant or technical proposal guidelines. Review and analyzes Requests for Proposals (RFPs); develops complete management and/or technical volume responses.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Contributes and participates to writing the complete technical and management proposals coordinating as necessary with business units, operational program personnel and other departments. Prepares grant and technical proposal responses relating to RFPs or Requests for Information (RFIs) from Federal, State, foundation, commercial and local entities.
  • Interviews program managers and technical experts and develops proposal narratives.
  • Develops proposal features, benefits, graphics, and proof points.
  • Writes, edits, and rewrites technical sections.
  • Performs independent background research and conducts internet searches on competitors and other background information.
  • Resourceful in gaining knowledge and understanding of the services, programs and population that comprise CW Group.
  • Develops themes, discriminators and key success factors based on input from executive and Sr. leadership. 
  • Reviews and analyzes technical sections received from operating units and develops standardized sections for all RFPs.
  • Resolves issues between originating authors or team members using a collaborative approach.
  • Assists with quality improvement and other special projects as determined by the Proposal Manager.
  • Submits copy to Proposal Manager on a regular basis and makes edits as required to respond to RFP requirements.
  • Other Duties as required.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • BA/BS Degree in Business Administration, English or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of technical proposal writing experience with federal and state RFPs as well as foundation/private grant proposals.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. 
  • Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro XI. 
  • Knowledge and experience with Salesforce (Preferred)
  • Must be able to take and provide constructive criticism of writing.
  • Must have an advanced understanding of proper English grammar and possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the Proposal Writer will have to use required technology and electronic devices, sit, stand, and occasionally move throughout the building and travel to local sites. As well as, be required to effectively communicate verbally and in writing (speaking and hearing), while fulfilling the job’s duties.
