JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY The basic function of the Superintendent is to provide on-site coordination for all phases of construction projects.

DUTIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):

• Schedule third party and city inspections and participate in these inspections
• Oversee jobsite safety and maintaining and enforcing company safety policies
• Knowledge and understanding of construction processes and jobsite management
• Maintaining the construction schedule and provide weekly updates
• Direct field construction processes to ensure the project is executed safely, on budget, by design and on schedule.
• Lead subcontractor meetings and participate in pre-construction meetings
• Open gates in morning and lock up job site at end of day
• Inspect subcontractors work for compliance with contract documents and assist with quality control and other inspection checklists
• Facilitate subcontractors in staging the jobsite and organizing construction materials
• Oversee the cleanliness of the jobsite daily
• Assist in coordinating deliveries
• Participate in owner/architect/contractor meetings and jobsite walks
• Enforce SWPPP compliance
• Ability to read and understand construction documents such as blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, product data sheets and contracts
• Individual must be motivated, responsible, and able to stay on task with little supervision
• Be detail oriented, have the ability to multitask, and foresee scheduled activities in advance
• Individual must have strong communication skills to help resolve conflicts
• Must be PC proficient and have general computer skills as required to issue reports, respond to emails, schedule inspections, save project photos and ability to learn or become familiar with project management software

EXPERIENCE

• Associate degree and 2-5 years of commercial construction or multi-family construction; or combination of education and experience
• Local experience and contractor knowledge preferred
• Some land development experience preferred
• Ability to oversee multiple projects at one time
• Excellent communication, team building, resource management and conflict resolution skills a must
• Strong negotiation skills to resolve field issues with subcontractor, design team and/or owner
• MS Office skills required, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Working Conditions: Routine exposure to jobsite conditions with extreme weather conditions such as cold and heat, rain and snow, exposure to jobsite noise, machinery, tools, equipment, and potentially dangerous situations. Employee will regularly be required to sit, stand, walk, climb, talk, and hear. Occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs.
