Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting pharmacists in providing medication and healthcare products to patients. Your attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and knowledge of medical terminology will contribute to the efficient operation of our pharmacy.
Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications to patients
- Prepare and package medications for distribution
- Maintain inventory of medications and supplies
- Enter patient and prescription information into the pharmacy system accurately
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, answering their questions and addressing their concerns
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate medication orders and patient care
- Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous materials
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceutical calculations
- Experience working in a hospital or acute care setting is preferred
- Familiarity with IV infusion and aseptic technique is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
