Registered Nursing Assistants are an essential part of the nursing team. They provide direct care for residents that are consistent with each resident’s plan of care and provide a “homelike” environment for the resident. Registered Nursing Assistants must continually work toward the achievement of the goals of CRMC. Quality care and overall efficiency are essential components to this success.

• Trained Medical Assistant (T.M.A.) duties apply ONLY to those that have completed the TMA certification process, received training, and been assigned to TMA duties.

TMA duties:

1. Effectively utilize computer systems required for this position (i.e. Point Click Care, e-MAR/TAR, email, Net Learning, Technical Life Support, etc.)

2. Be a role model. Provide oversight and monitor NA/R staff to ensure resident needs are met, report performance concerns to leadership.

3. Accurately and effectively deliver prescribed medications to residents within normal time limits, to include but not limited to:

• Maintain appropriate security of Medication Cart
• Proper administration of oxygen delivery systems
• Blood Glucose monitoring
• Provide proper wound care
• Properly order/re-order medications
• Properly use emergency equipment
• Properly use Nebulizers
• Properly use blood pressure cuff, pulse oximeter, thermometer
• Proper use of any other instrument utilized in this TMA role

4. Appropriately communicate via written or verbal methods. Inform licensed nursing staff of resident conditions and/or changes to conditions.
