Job Description:

SUMMARY

Responsible for overall program coordination, instruction, and evaluation. Recruits, orientates and educates students (high school and college), teachers, technical instructors, and site visitors. Assists in the planning, organizing, coordination and evaluation of Youth Technology Academy resources and academic activities.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Serves as the Lead Instructor in high schools providing equity in access to technology for students
  • Responsible for technical curriculum development as needed
  • Facilitates innovative programming to attract and engage students in technical fields of study
  • Responsible for overall program coordination, instruction, and evaluation
  • Aids in distribution, collection and analysis of technical education effectiveness and program outcome instruments, including robotics information and any new teaching technology platform identified
  • Organizes and maintains programmatic records and evaluations to ensure the files are in compliance with funder requirements and the students are receiving all intended services
  • Recruits, orientates and educates students and teachers, technical instructors and site visitors
  • Participates in outreach activities and events as needed
  • Assists in the planning, organizing, coordination and evaluation of college level technology courses for students via the CCP program
  • Maintains current knowledge of identified new technologies and robotics designing, building and programming techniques and educational methodology through continuing professional development
  • Performs other duties as assigned


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
    • Significant related experience may substitute for education
  • Minimum of five years of recent full-time professional work experience in a STEM-related field
  • Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team

  • Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to promote student success
  • Ability to effectively complete work assignments independently

  • Demonstrated basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to collaborate, persuade, gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas on significant projects
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or related field
