Customized Distribution Service is Hiring an Operations Supervisor - Wharton Day Shift Near Wharton, NJ

Position Summary: The candidate selected for this role will lead a team of warehouse operations personnel as they execute organizational and operational objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.

  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of warehouse operations personnel as they carry out daily warehouse functions.

  • Ensure that operational resources, including equipment and human talent, are appropriately allocated to daily needs.

  • Serve as a role model to all subordinate staff in completing the Company's Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality Policy objectives.

  • Effectively represent the organization to a diverse workforce and nurture a culture of safety and responsibility amongst all subordinate staff.

  • Serve as a mentor, leader, and team builder.

  • Coordinate the efforts of shipping office and operations personnel to ensure that customer orders are effectively satisfied.

  • Liaise between subordinate staff and senior management to ensure organizational goals and objectives are effectively communicated and met.

  • Oversee all administrative processes within the distribution center to include generation of shift, labor, and operational reports.

  • Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with all company safety and operational standards.

  • Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has supervisory responsibilities for warehouse and some dock office positions.

    Qualifications: In order to perform this job successfully the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements outlined below are representative of the knowledge/skill and/or ability required.     Required Education and/or Experience: 

    • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of management experience in a distribution center environment.

    • Extensive supply chain process expertise including some manufacturing, inbound receiving, storage, retrieval (full pallets, case pick, layer pick), shipping, transportation, etc.

    • Hold an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in business management or logistics.

    • Excellent organizational and management skills to include the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and assign responsibilities accordingly.

    • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.

    • Strong computer and technology skills to include a proficiency in MS Office applications.

    • Knowledge of RF-enabled warehouse technologies.

    • Extensive knowledge of material handling challenges.

    Preferred Education and/or Experience: 

    • Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred, but not required.

    Language Skills: Ability to analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to compose reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate information in verbal or written format and effectively respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, employees, customers and the general public.

    Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages as well as draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to correctly read, interpret and process lengthy strings of individual digits in their correct order

  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    • Sit for extended periods of time.

    • Occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch.

    • Lift up to fifty (50) pounds repeatedly.

    • Stoop, reach, kneel, twist and walk while handling cases of product.

    • Vision abilities include proximate vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
