Job Opportunity: Maintenance Planner at Custom Steel Supply

Custom Steel Supply, a leading steel manufacturing company based in Laurens, South Carolina, is seeking a dynamic Maintenance Planner to join our team. Reporting directly to the supervisor, this role will be instrumental in optimizing our preventive maintenance program and ensuring the efficient operation of our facilities.

Essential Functions of Position:

• Analyze existing maintenance methods and implement processes to improve and streamline the preventive maintenance program.
• Assist in project management and coordinate the procurement and administration of consultant and contractor services, ensuring contractual compliance.
• Provide cost estimates, risk analysis, and production estimates for potential projects.
• Collaborate with production on projects, priorities, and timetables as needed.
• Evaluate new manufacturing technology and recommend re-engineering options to enhance maintenance economy.
• Offer maintenance assistance on problems related to the operation of production equipment and facilities.
• Utilize and record work in CMMS (SAP) on a daily basis.
• Work independently with little guidance, as well as with teammates and the electrical supervisor, to improve equipment uptime and effectiveness.
• Follow all health and safety procedures set out by Custom Steel Supply and regulatory agencies, including LOTO.
• Consistently adhere to company policies, work instructions, procedures, and API/ISO requirements.
• Ensure regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule.
• Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy.

Qualifications:

• Three years of multi-craft maintenance experience.
• Experience with shop floor interfaces such as MES and SAP-based platforms.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Proficient in English communication, use of measuring and testing devices, hand and power tools, and basic math calculations.
• Mechanical aptitude required for job fulfillment.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, including functions such as pivot tables and if statements.

Physical Demands:

• The physical demands include using personal protective equipment (PPE), operating required equipment, and meeting the physical capabilities outlined for all positions within the facility.
