Custom Millwork & Display is Hiring an Estimator Near South Bend, IN

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Millwork Estimator to join our team in a hybrid capacity, combining in-office collaboration with remote work flexibility. The ideal candidate will have experience in millwork estimation and proficiency in using Innergy or similar take-off software.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Innergy or equivalent software to perform accurate take-offs and material estimations for millwork projects.
  • Interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and other project documents to accurately assess project requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, designers, and other stakeholders to clarify project scope and requirements.
  • Analyze project plans and specifications to identify potential issues and suggest value engineering solutions where applicable.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Maintain accurate records of project estimates, changes, and communications.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and construction methodologies to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.
  • Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and participate in bid reviews as needed.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to project teams during the pre-construction phase.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the estimating department, including process enhancements and software optimization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Millwork Estimator or similar role, with a minimum of 3 years in the millwork industry.
  • Proficiency in using Innergy or similar take-off software is required.
  • Strong understanding of millwork materials, manufacturing processes, and installation methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Solid organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with construction project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam) is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work in both an office environment and remotely as needed.
