Under the supervision of the Associate Vice President of Student Affairs, the Wellness Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with efforts that have a primary emphasis on health promotion, harm reduction, knowledge and behavior change interventions in the areas of alcohol and other drug use, stress management, sleep, violence prevention and other areas of wellness that impact student success and well-being. This individual will work closely with campus partners to strategically infuse messages and education that promotes wellbeing into campus programs, events, and initiatives. We are seeking a compassionate and inclusive professional with demonstrated experience in fostering an accessible learning environment, particularly with a focus on supporting neurodiverse students, to join our dedicated team committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in education. Some evening and weekend hours are required.

Essential Functions:

1. Program Implementation

  • Provide educational presentations, training programs and outreach in the areas of exercise, nutrition, sexual education, sleep, and stress management.
  • Provide programming and educational outreach on issues related to alcohol and other drugs, including the provision of alternative options.
  • Work directly with Assistant Director of Community Standards & Accountability on alcohol and drug amnesty program.
  • Plan and direct the wellness components of orientation and new student programs including orientation to campus culture, health promotion and wellbeing resources.
  • Collaborate with key campus partners in developing programming with particular attention to the Office of Equity and Inclusion, Title IX, Athletics, and Student Affairs.
  • Participates in departmental and institutional diversity and inclusion initiatives; ensure the delivery of culturally competent care for a diverse student body.

2. Program Analysis and Strategic Planning

  • Develop, implement, and monitor the effectiveness of health promotion initiatives to improve health and wellbeing.
  • Analyze, interpret, and report research findings and recommendations. Remain apprised of research and best practices in the health promotion field.
  • Work in collaboration with the Director of Health Services as well as the Director of Counseling to establish annual programming that highlights departmental integration and meets student needs.

3. Advising and Supervision

  • Provide one-on-one consultations to students regarding health & wellness needs and/or challenges.
  • Develop and implement training for student interns and/or graduate assistants.
Job Requirements:


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required in public health, social work, counseling, psychology, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 2-4 years related experience required coordinating health or social services. Related experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting data required.
  • Experience preferred identifying student health and wellness needs.
  • Strong administrative and operations management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
  • Willing and able to work non-standard hours as required, including evenings and weekends.
  • Experience with virtual meeting platforms such as Teams/Zoom.
  • Previous experience using Word, Adobe, Excel, and basic computer programs.
  • Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.

Salary Range:

$55,000 to $60,000 annually
