We are looking for a Senior Production Chemist to join our company to bring a series of disrupting technologies to the life science market. 

You will work within a highly dynamic group to develop new products based on Curio's spatial mapping technologies. Curio Bioscience is founded by academic and industrial pioneers in life science technologies. The leadership team includes seasoned biotech entrepreneurs and reputable inventors with a strong track record of bringing innovative technologies from concept to commercialization. 

In particular, this role will be instrumental in the production of quality chemical materials supporting the Curio product lines. The position will involve hands-on production and process optimization, with the growth opportunity to build a production chemistry team.

In this role, you will: 

• Independently perform DNA synthesis using an oligonucleotide synthesis instrument to deliver materials to support our product lines
• Lead efforts to optimize and scale up the processes, ensuring efficiency and yield
• Implement and maintain rigorous quality control measures to ensure raw materials and products meet internal quality standards
• Draft and issue Work Instructions (WI), Manufacturing Batch Instructions (MI), and Bill of Materials (BOMs) in Curio’s QMS
• Maintain and execute WI and MI in a GMP environment
• Generate and maintain the inventory of supplies for the organic chemistry team in Curio’s Lab Information Management System (LIMS)
• Optimize inventory levels, ensure timely procurement, and maintain efficient supply chains to meet organizational goals
• Carry out routine maintenance on manufacturing equipment
• Carry on EH&S responsibilities related to chemical productions 
• Build and develop a cohesive production chemistry team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to team members to foster professional growth and excellence in the future

You have:

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related fields
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, with a focus on process optimization and quality assurance
• Experience with chemistry lab techniques such as pipetting, buffer preparation, and operation of lab equipment
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment for life science products
• Ideally, knowledge and experience with nucleic acid synthesis chemistries
• Ideally, experience with oligonucleotide synthesis machines and handling of magnetic beads 
• Superb attention to detail, and ability to follow, generate, and write protocols 
• Desire to work in a fast-paced, agile environment
• Ability to quickly acquire new techniques and knowledge
• Excellent written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and environmental stewardship

The Base Salary Range for this position is $100,000 - $140,000. Curio Bioscience considers various factors, including professional background and work experience, when determining base pay. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary.
