Curalta Health is Hiring a Podiatrist Near Multiple locations, NJ

Curalta Foot Ankle is the largest and foremost network of podiatrists in the Northeast, focused on delivering high-quality, complete foot and ankle care. Curalta’s providers combine decades of experience with a forward-thinking, innovative approach to treatment in order to maximize patient outcomes and experiences across all lower extremity conditions.

The practicing podiatrist is responsible to diagnose and treat all conditions relating to the lower legs, feet, and ankles. Their duties include consulting with patients, practicing evidence-based medicine with best practices, prescribing appropriate medication and devices as indicated for the condition, and performing all necessary procedures and surgeries to remedy patients' conditions. Continued education on medical advancements and treatments is expected.

Essential Functions, Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Clinical Knowledge

  • Demonstrates knowledge of etiologies, risk factors, pathophysiology, and epidemiology of medical conditions
  • Documents accurate and relevant history and physical assessments of patients appropriate for age, gender, and clinical problem
  • Orders and interpret appropriate diagnostic studies
  • Utilizes critical thinking to synthesize and analyze collected data
  • Develops, implements, and alters the plan of care as indicated
  • Knowledge of the indications, contraindications, side effects, interactions and adverse reactions of pharmacologic agents and other relevant treatment modalities
  • Demonstrates proficiency in procedural skills pertinent to practice area

Patient Care

  • Provides compassionate care for the promotion of health and the prevention of illness and disease complications
  • Incorporates the patient and family in care planning and treatment across settings
  • Serves as an advocate for patients and families in navigating the health care system
  • Clinical documentation, including coding and billing, meets all required standards
  • Utilization and proficiency of EHR, allowing for timely completion of documentation

Practice Based Learning and Clinical Improvement

  • Demonstrates insight into own strengths, limitations, and knowledge deficits
  • Demonstrates initiative to meet identified learning needs using multiple resources
  • Actively participates in self-evaluation by seeking and utilizing guidance and constructive feedback in a professional manner
  • Continuously seeks opportunities for clinical advancement and knowledge and skill attainment

Communication and Interdisciplinary Collaboration

  • Communicates and collaborates effectively with physicians, other related health professionals
  • Works effectively with multidisciplinary team members
  • Promotes mutual respect and trust working within a team model
  • Communicates effectively with patients and families, incorporating gender, age, culture, race, religion, disabilities, and sexual orientation

  • Follows ethical principles regarding patient confidentiality, informed consent, and unanticipated adverse outcomes
  • Demonstrates the highest level of accountability for professional practice
  • Participates in education of students and other health care professionals

Systems Based Practice

  • Considers cost effectiveness and risk/benefit analysis when making decisions about patient care
  • Uses evidenced-based medicine to systematically analyze and improve patient care practices

  • Participates in development, evaluates and implements standards of care within area of specialization (policies, protocols, etc.)

Education & Experience:

  • Doctoral degree in podiatric medicine
  • Completion of accredited residency with board qualification or certification
  • In-depth knowledge of modern surgical and therapeutic treatments

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to assess acute and chronic conditions of the foot/ankle with appropriate implementation of treatment plan (which may include triage to operative specialties)
  • Minor procedures not requiring the operating room
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Advanced diagnostic and fine-motor skills
  • Knowledge of related physical therapy techniques
  • Knowledge of related medicines and topical treatments
  • High level of patience and empathy
  • Good decision-making skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting/and or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds
