Cultivation Manager - Genetics

Location: 5436 W Latham St, Phoenix, AZ

Job Summary

This position is responsible for aiding and leading the execution of cultivation genetics projects, as set forth by National Cultivation and Genetics, documenting the results of said activities and reporting those results with established protocols.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manages a small team of cultivation associates (3-5) in genetic nursery stock production and coordinates cutting and propagation schedule for genetics program

• Assists with the execution of cultivation research studies and ensures maintenance of related facilities & equipment.

• Assists the development of "Curaleaf core cultivars"

• Assist/coordinate phenotype categorization/selection processes and associated sampling protocols.

• Assist/coordinate between relevant departments regarding logistical solutions to ongoing process/facility changes.

• Assist/coordinate between relevant departments regarding ongoing cultivation research trials, ensure proper documentation of relevant data is being taken as well as consolidation & reporting of said data with established protocols.

• Organize, analyze, and present data from ongoing cultivation research trials.

• Assist/coordinate with cultivation department to ensure proper documentation of relevant data is being taken as well as consolidation & reporting of data with established protocols.

• Assist/coordinate with cultivation department regarding development of new processes and documentation protocols.

• Collect and manage preliminary potency samples to ensure that crops meet quality standards and to understand how and if THC degrades during the harvest, drying, and packaging processes

• Maintain integrity of seed inventory and oversee allotment of seed to cultivation for propagation.

• Manages activities in breeding pods and associated workflow as defined by National Cultivation

• Perform time studies/maintain metrics for employee operational efficiency and resourcing.

• Point of contact for purchasing of cultivation supplies.

• Point of contact for submission of cultivation work orders.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Must have proficiency in seed to sale system and associated functions.

• The ideal candidate will have an enhanced understanding of cultivation practices including good agricultural practices.

Education / Experience

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in science, two years of internal work experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively to team members and to management.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to perform basic math functions such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
