This position is located in Performance Management.
Examples of Duties
The Performance Management Division’s purpose is to provide on-boarding, training, and coaching for social work employees in Adult and Children Services, to oversee and develop agency data collection, to coordinate county and state audits and case reviews, to assist agency and departmental leadership in strategizing and developing corrective action plans and standard operating procedures and to consult on agency special projects and initiatives. The primary clients served by the Performance Management Section are Adult and Children Services social work employees; however, consultation and coordination with Economic Services is also required. The Division consists of a Quality Assurance Team, Staff Development Team, and a Human Services Planner Evaluator Team. The responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Team include, but are not limited to, on-boarding of Adult and Children Services social work employees, coaching, developing, and providing training to social work employees and other agency employees, collecting, and evaluating program and agency data, conducting targeted case reviews, and conducting or supporting state and federally mandated case reviews. This position, under the supervision of the Performance Management Division Chief, is responsible for direct oversight, support, supervision, and structure of the Quality Assurance Team.
Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Master’s degree from an accredited school of social work and two years of social work or counseling experience; OR a bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of social work and three years of social work or counseling experience; OR a master’s degree in a counseling field and three years of social work or counseling experience; OR a four-year degree in a human services field or related curriculum including at least 15 semester hours in courses related to social work or counseling and four years of social work or counseling experience; OR graduation from a four-year college or university and five years of experience in rehabilitation counseling, pastoral counseling, or a related human services field providing experience in the techniques of casework, group work, or community organization; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of methods and principles of social work supervision and training. Considerable knowledge of social work principles, techniques and practices and their application to specific casework and community problems. Considerable knowledge of behavioral and socioeconomic problems and their treatment and governmental and private organizations and community resources. Considerable knowledge of the laws, regulations, and policies which govern social work programs. Ability to supervise, train, or orient lower-level social workers, students, interns, or other staff. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and to plan and execute work effectively.

The employee in this position will be operating motor vehicles for Cumberland County and shall have a valid North Carolina Drivers License.

Law enforcement background check is required.
Duties of this position require the use of the employees personal vehicle.
This position will require assisting in emergency and/or disaster situations.
The Cumberland County Department of Social Services has a strict dress code policy that must be adhered to. This policy includes specific guidelines related to tattoos and body piercing.
