Job Description:
The Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is responsible for all aspects of case management for a caseload of learners. BCBAs train and monitor BT/RBTs in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for a caseload of patients. The BCBA works closely with the Practice Manager and Clinical Director to ensure quality of care, authorization, supervision, and implementation of treatment plans are provided in the effective treatment of patients. The BCBA models culture throughout their daily interactions with all individuals in the clinic, home, and community settings. The BCBA oversees and provides training to the clinical team that directly impacts each patient and their caseload in all environments where treatment occurs. The BCBA may also oversee Lead RBTs/Apprentices as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Conducts patient intake assessments inclusive of FBA and curricular assessments and assists in the on-boarding of new patients
· Develops the initial treatment plan and makes regular program modifications
· Writes treatment protocols and behavior support plans
· Is familiar with insurance requirements for the funders related to the learner caseload and follows regulations as outlined
· Adheres to the usage and implementation of individual CPT code usage outlines
· Develops their own schedule and understands the importance of effective time management
· Submits treatment plans and accompanying documentation to the Clinical Director within assigned timeframe for appropriate authorization
· Writes and submits session notes within 24 hours of session
· Reviews technician session notes and ensures fidelity of note and submission within 24 hours of session.
· Communicates regularly with parents to facilitate the clinical objectives of the patient’s treatment plan
· Collaborates with caregivers when there are barriers to elements of treatment such as but not limited to, scheduling barriers, data collection fidelity, commitment to treatment, etc.
· Collaborates with caregivers and colleagues while exhibiting cultural humility as related to learners and families
· Collaborates with caregivers, staff and the Practice Manager to fulfill learner medical necessity for treatment hours
· Meets regularly with the Clinical Director to review treatment plans, discuss case conceptualization, and problem solve any barriers to patient progress
· Oversees RBTs who work with their caseload of learners to implement regular supervision of treatment, ongoing training, support and mentorship, and provide feedback (informal and formal)
· Conducts regular parent training to ensure treatment fidelity across caregivers and promote generalization of skills across environments
· Develops managerial and leadership skills on an ongoing basis
· Supports quality assurance measures by collecting IOA, treatment fidelity data, and reviewing RBT clinical notes
· Coordinates with the Training Associate, Lead RBT, Clinical Director and Practice Manager to identify and plan for RBTs requiring additional training outside of regularly scheduled supervision
· Provides supervision and oversight to apprentices/individuals pursuing certification
· Participates in the development and dissemination of educational and ongoing development initiatives
· Maintains BCBA certification by renewing certification as mandated by BACB/state regulatory body
· Demonstrates a high level of engagement in company culture including but not limited to robust understanding of Cultivate’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values
· Attends meetings and training as required
· Participates in companywide projects or initiatives
· Maintains applied skills and models for supervisees, as necessary
· Must be ready and available to work during regular business hours
· Works ethically and with integrity while following the BACB Professional Responsibility and Ethical Code
· Understands and adheres to HIPAA policies
· Adheres to Cultivate policies and procedures
· Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
· Two (2) years of experience in functional discipline preferred
· Minimum of one (1) year experience within ABA
· Master’s degree with concentration in ABA
· At least two (2) years of related professional experience working with children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) or intellectual disability preferred
· BCBA certification and in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BCAB)
· Familiarity with the field of early intervention preferred
· Passionate about behavioral science and disseminating best practices and current research within the field of ABA
· Desire to work with children
· Fluent in program development to meet treatment goals, assessment implementation and report development
· Demonstrates continuous professional growth with a strong desire to continue learning
· Reliable transportation is required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Process driven and detail-oriented
· Excellent organizational and time management skills including the ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize appropriately to deliver timely results and consistently meet deadlines
· Ability to empathize and communicate with guardians professionally, with confidence, in parent communication and training to achieve goals
· Communication skills, both oral and written, that are clear, concise, exhibit leadership, professionalism, empathy, and inspire confidence
· Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week), including some flexibility regarding schedule changes required to accommodate patient and staff needs
· Ability to work and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders from wide ranging backgrounds
· Highly motivated and energetic during work hours
· Experience and competency with Microsoft Office Suite
· Experience with ABA data collection software is preferred
· Ability to successfully complete and pass Background and Reference Checks and Drug Screen
