General Statement of Duties:
The floater teacher will support all classrooms, Infants to PreK, covering for teachers’ absences, vacations, breaks and additional support. While supporting the classroom, the floater teacher will assist the classroom teacher in activities, lessons, cleaning, and additional duties by actively interacting with the children. Will also assist in the supervision and guidance of the children at all times. Will work with ages ranging from six (6) weeks old to five (5) years old. The Floater Teacher may also provide assistance in the kitchen and act as the bus driver when needed.

Typical working conditions:* will work under the direction of the Child Development Program Director and provide support to the classroom teachers. Will work in a dynamic environment where frequent interruptions may occur. Must have the flexibility to manage different tasks with or without notice. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:*
Education, experience, credentials:
A. Be at least 18 years old
B. Must have high school diploma or equivalent
C. Must have or be able to obtain 45-hour course within 90 days of hire and working towards completing CDA, associates, or bachelors in early childhood education or related field
E. Must meet the New Mexico Childcare licensing requirements regarding criminal records background check, hold a valid driver’s license, have car insurance and be able to travel within the city limits.
F. Bilingual Spanish/English highly desired
