12-week summer experience

Primary Tasks:

• Write scripts and software to automate builds, releases, and deployments.
• Improve Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Troubleshoot and identify the root cause of Jenkins build failures.
• Develop Jenkins build scripts and assist in system administration.
• Contribute to the software development process through branching, merging, and code reviews.
• Perform pull requests, interpret functional requirements, and provide status updates.
• Discuss and propose design changes as needed.
• Branch, merge, and tag code for release.
• Create and execute manual and/or automated builds, releases, and deployments as requested.

Minimum Requirements:

• Enrollment in a four-year college degree program in software development or engineering, with a desire to continue a career in engineering or software development.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills, follow-through, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions and interface effectively with employees, management, and customers.
• Capability to perform tasks under work deadlines.

Additional Skillset/Tools (preferred):

• Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Python, Ansible, Java, GitHub, SQL

Intern Performance Objectives:

• Gain increased knowledge and experience in the software design, development, integration, and testing lifecycle.
• Enhance understanding and experience in system testing principles and activities.
• Acquire familiarity with tools used to support software development and testing, including JIRA and TestRail.
• Develop knowledge and experience in automated fare collection systems, encompassing both hardware and software components.
• Gain experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, disciplined engineering environment with other engineers, developers, and testers.
