Job ProfileSummary

This person reports to theManufacturing Manager and is responsible for the efficient andeffective use of labor and all other resources.

In order to fulfillthese responsibilities in the most effective manner the MaintenanceSupervisor is charged with developing the plant maintenancetechnicians into a welltrained committed and spirited maintenanceteam.

JobDescription

Responsibilities :

Providesupervision of mechanics and electricians as needed to ensureprocess equipment and facilities systems are supporting plantrequirements.

Maintain company and productreputation by complying with OSHA USDA PSM and Risk ManagementProgram and NFPA70E and B.

Direct and control theactivities of the mechanics to ensure that the job and / or theactivities performed are completed properly in a timely manner andthat adequate follow up has beenconducted.

Maintain a preventive maintenanceprogram by reviewing PM Reports and schedules to ensure allmachinery and equipment are at operationalstandards.

Maintain a safe clean and hazard freework environment for maintenance associates visitors and productionpersonnel with good housekeeping habits and by attending orconducting classes on OSHA programs such as lock outtag out andMSDS training.

Ensure that the mechanics performthe preproduction setup in an effective and timelymanner.

Maintain a work order system which tracksequipment parts supplies and mechanics hours by equipmentnumber.

Assist in the coordination of maintenanceand repair of equipment with productionschedules.

Support product development andimprovement by discussing equipment needs and modifications withthe Facilities Manager and coordinating the efforts of themechanics that are working on these machines orequipment.

Assist the Facility Manager inrepairing an annual plan for the maintenance department whichincludes the following items :

o Expense budgetfor the following year o Manpower requirements o Machinery andequipment requirements Ensure that safety and sanitation proceduresare documented and available to all personnel Ensure awareness ofemployee attitudes toward safety and sanitationpractices.

Keep abreast of changes andinnovations in the meat production and equipment industry toimprove company performance andprofitability.

Participate in industry andmanagement training programs to enhance knowledge of the industry.Participate in the continuing education program and meet or exceedminimum requirements.

Maintain a constant senseof urgency and employee moral throughout the company Ensure thatBoars Head Provisions image of honesty integrity and fairness isprojected favorably at all times by all employees Establish andmaintain a positive operating or can do philosophy / attituderegarding employee relations and internal operations.

Thisphilosophy / attitude must be disseminated throughout thecompany.

Perform any duties which the FacilitiesManager may assign or those that are logically and properlyinherent to thisposition.

Qualifications :

AssociatesDegree with 5 to 7 years work experience in asupervisory / leadership role OR 9 to 11 years work experience withat least 5 years in a supervisory / leadership role

Demonstrated knowledge of process equipmentmaintenance and CIP

Hazmat / HAZWOPER experience

Emergency electrical generator and switchgearsystems experience
