CTL Engineering is hiring for a Project Manager| Construction Testing Services ( 5 yrs exp )!

We provide civil/site design and land surveying, environmental, geotechnical, construction administration & inspection, accident reconstruction, roofing/building envelope, A/V system design, troubleshooting & installation, transportation design (bridge/roadway), and specialized testing services to the construction industry.

We are looking for a Project Manager| Construction Testing Services who will play a key role in all aspects of construction inspection/testing services and quality control for state, county, and local Clients. You’ll manage a team of Inspectors and oversee the testing and inspection aspects of a wide variety of construction projects including those in the roadway/bridge, water/wastewater, aviation, commercial, and municipal utility/infrastructure) sectors. You’ll leverage your expertise in construction testing, inspection, construction administration, and creative problem-solving skills while collaborating closely with institutions/municipal agencies.

Highlights :

• This position will include a mix of field work, laboratory work, and office work.
• This position works independently on broad projects under direction of a Dept. Manager while managing a team of direct reports or projects.
• Projects are typically in the greater Indianapolis area/Central Indiana region. Frequent travel within this region is expected.
• A stipend for personal vehicle use or a company take-home vehicle will be provided, based on the assignment.
• INDOT large project experience is a strong plus .

Responsibilities :

• Manages a team of Technicians conducting construction testing services.
• Monitor and enforce quality standards and specifications to support the client.
• Coordinate field personnel, prepare of test reports and perform specialty tests and services for public and private sector clients.
• Report construction quality control activities on construction projects.
• Develop cost estimates of testing projects.
• Interact with clients and potential clients to ensure project objectives are met.
• Manage reporting of construction quality control activities on construction projects.
• Train and supervise Technicians/Inspectors.
• Manage the maintenance of the quality reviews and certifications.
• Manage equipment inventory and calibration.
• Assist with client marketing and proposal preparation in conjunction with internal partners/Marketing Team.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

• Knowledge of civil and engineering principles, reporting, analysis and management of teams and projects.
• Extensive experience in the Construction industry and engineering equipment.
• Must have technical skills and understanding of P&L.
• Must have ability to manage multiple projects and remain quality-focused.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to manage and train others and be a team player.
• Ability to be reliable and on time.
• Must have good customer service skills, a high level of professionalism, and comfortable with client interaction – have the ability to build relationships.
• Be quality-minded and client-focused.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred (Civil Engineering, Construction Management, etc.).
• 5 years of testing experience and or land development and project management.
• Previous experience working for a testing and/or inspection company.
• Significant experience with concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and utility construction engineering services and testing.
• Significant experience with field and laboratory testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, masonry, structural steel and fireproofing, etc.
• Preferred certifications: ACI Grade I, DOT Asphalt Tech, NICET Level II Soils, ICC Special inspections and/or CWI/NDT inspectors
• INDOT large project experience is a strong plus /preferred but not required.
• Must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record.
• Contacts in the Indiana construction industry with a focus on the Indianapolis market is a plus but not required.
