CTI is Hiring a Maintenance Laborer - Starting pay $16-$18/hour DOE (Laveen/Phoenix, AZ) Near Phoenix, AZ

CTI, Inc. is looking for a full-time Laborer to join our fleet maintenance team in Laveen, AZ.

Hourly: $16.00 - $18.00/hour (DOE)

$300 Quarterly Safety Bonus

Work schedule: 

  • Day shift: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm with two consecutive weekdays off 
  • Swing shift: 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm with two consecutive weekdays off

CTI, Inc. is a local hauling company that has been established in 1930. We are a proud part of the mining and construction industries throughout the Southwest. We have grown to over 350 drivers and have terminal locations throughout Arizona and New Mexico.

A Laborer assists in various maintenance department activities.

Job requirements:

  • Minimum 18 Years of age
  • Valid Driver License
  • No more than 2 moving violations within the previous 3 years
  • Successful pre-employment background screening & drug testing 
  • Ability to work varying hours and schedules, including overtime

Essential duties & responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times and adhere to all OSHA/EPA requirements
  • Load, unload, and transfer material from one trailer to another
  • Assist other maintenance personnel when necessary
  • Assist with service calls when involving fuel filters, tires, or lights for a tractor or trailer
  • Perform tractor-trailer switch-outs daily, ensuring proper coupling of the tractor to the trailer which includes proper connection of brake airlines and seven-wire plug for lights
  • Clean out product from insides of trailers as directed, following OSHA regulations and company policies
  • Clean equipment through the use of industrial wash bay equipment and supplies
  • Perform daily equipment yard check
  • Clean and maintain Fuel Island as directed
  • Clean buildings, offices, and grounds as directed
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned

 Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Work varying hours and schedules
  • Work overtime, as needed
  • Maintain a current driver license
  • Must be able to be insured under the company's vehicle insurance policy
  • Work well with others
  • Understand and comply with organizational policies and procedures and all applicable local, state, and federal rules and regulations
  • Apply general rules to specific problems
  • Apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written or verbal form
  • Ability to communicate information in verbal and written form, as well as the ability to listen to and understand information and directions.
  • Add, subtract, multiply and divide in whole numbers

Physical requirements and working conditions:

  • This position requires the ability to frequently stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands and fingers; and lift, carry, pull, push and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • This position requires the ability to frequently stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with arms and hands, grip, speak, hear, see, climb and/or balance, bend, kneel, squat or crawl, use legs, and feet. This position requires constant climbing of stairs and/or ladders, working at elevations of 14 feet above the ground, bending over.
  • This position is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, toxic and/or caustic chemicals or substances, extreme weather conditions, vibration, and equipment under pressure.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and risks of electrical shock. The noise level is usually very loud.
