Job Overview
Diagnose malfunctions in production machinery and equipment. Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and equipment, physical structures, plumbing, refrigeration and electrical systems, in accordance with blueprints, schematic drawings, operations manuals, and manufacturer's specifications.
All shifts available! Hourly rate can range from $20.00 - $32.00 depending on experience!
Responsibilities
  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instrument
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Promotes, adheres, and is responsible for Food Safety and Quality.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications
    • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school;
      • OR six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong troubleshooting skills
    • Knowledge of manufacturing process and equipment
    • Ability to work in a high paced environment
    Physical Requirements:
    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, talk or hear and will be working from heights. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste/smell; and frequently required to climb and must be able to reach all levels in the bay. The employee will frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and regularly lifts to 50 pounds.
    Work Environment:
    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires that hearing protection be worn in production areas at all times.
