The Community Colleges rely in part for the funding of programs and operations on funds provided by grants and gifts from government agencies, foundations and private donors.
The Director of Institutional Advancement manages a comprehensive program at a Community College to locate sources of funds, to prepare grant requests, to develop long term relationships with donor organizations and individuals, to solicit and to manage funds from these sources.
Incumbents must possess proven ability to effectively work with a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and student. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.)
Bachelor's degree in a related field with five (5) or more years of related experience in a senior level advancement professional environment; or a combination of education, training, and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position’s essential duties.

Under the direction of the College President, the Director of Institutional Advancement is accountable for providing for the long-term financial support of the College from sources external to the College’s regular funding through effective performance in these essential duties:
In addition to the accountabilities listed above, the incumbent is required to carry out the essential duties of: Attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies; Service on assigned committees and task forces; Attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational and professional meetings. These may involve attendance at evening or weekend events.

Anticipated Salary; $77,003 approximate annual plus excellent State of CT medical insurance, retirement, and related fringe benefits.
