CSWI w/Subsidiaries is Hiring a Material Handler -Shipping/Receiving Near Houston, TX

Job Overview:

The Material Handler will provide support for the manufacturing operations process, specifically the production side. This is an on-site hourly position. Additional work hours will be assigned during peak times and year-end.

RectorSeal manufactures and/or distributes various mechanical products for the HVAC, electrical, and plumbing industries. Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow all company-established rules and policies; adhere to all safety rules, quality standards, process documentation, and regulations.
  • Maintain all operation quality indicators by verifying product quantity/quality according to company requirements.
  • Ensure accurate inbound processing of stock.
  • Count and verify all inbound stock based on packing lists.
  • Transfer and put away stock using handheld scanning device.
  • Communicate with all departments as needed.
  • Load and unload components using forklifts/pallet jacks/pallet riders.
  • Work safely, quickly, and efficiently to handle stock in various functions throughout the building.
  • Engage in problem-solving and support continuous improvement.
  • Keep a spirit of learning and a desire to grow as a team member.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude while working independently and in a team environment.
  • Work overtime as business needs require.
  • Verify inventory levels physically and systemically.
  • Post transactions and movements as needed in the ERP system.
  • Handle the movement of chemicals and other materials throughout the site using forklifts or reach trucks.
  • Perform other related duties as directed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent or one year of experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment is preferred in lieu of education.
  • Basic computer skills to function in the job role.
  • Basic math skills to function in the role, including add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Able to work 8 -12-hour shifts standing.
  • Available to work any shift and/or overtime as needed.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Able to keep up in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to operate and maintain equipment in alignment with safety standards
  • Able to read Material Safety Data Sheets as well as raw material and finished goods container labels
  • High-quality standards and degree of accuracy and organizational skills
  • Solid work history demonstrating reliability and ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Able to understand, take ownership, and ensure the follow-through of directives as planned
  • Adaptable and easily adjusts to changing work conditions and responsibilities with a positive attitude
  • Able to operate a forklift, reach truck, and scissor lift

Preferred Experience:

  • Certification in the operation of a forklift truck
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Prior experience with JD Edwards or other ERP systems
  • Experience handling the movement and storage of hazardous chemicals

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands and fingers to type or dial, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands and arms.

The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position requires computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
