Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our team. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a crucial role in the healthcare field by collecting blood samples from patients for laboratory testing and analysis. If you have excellent patient service skills and a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology, we encourage you to apply. You will also be responsible for starting the donation process by performing phlebotomy.
Duties:
- Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood samples and plasma donation process
- Properly label and document collected plasma specimens for laboratory testing
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during the phlebotomy process
- Verify patient information and maintain accurate records and confidentiality
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols
- Handle specimens with care to prevent contamination or damage
- Assist with other clinical laboratory tasks as needed
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program
- Current certification as a Phlebotomist (e.g., CPT, PBT) is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures
- Familiarity with hospital or clinical laboratory settings
- Proficient in performing venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in specimen labeling and documentation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate empathy
