Position Summary

The Brake Press employee operates CSI’s multitude of hydraulic and manual press brakes to manufacture parts, equipment, and other components from sheet metal or metal blanks. This includes machine setup, production, and quality. This is a key role in our manufacturing process, ensuring the production of high-quality metal components. This is a 3rd shift position and is eligible for shift differential pay.

What You Will Do

• Perform Start Up/ Shut Down
• Follow Work instruction WI MD-08
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
• Select the appropriate tools, dies, and fixtures for each job
• Adjust machine settings to ensure accurate dimensions and angles
• Monitor machine operations to detect any issues or malfunctions
• Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to specifications
• Perform routine maintenance on press brake machines
• Collaborate with team members to optimize production efficiency

What You Will Need to Be Successful

• Previous experience as a Press Brake Operator or in a similar role
• Proficient in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers
• Familiarity with machining processes and equipment (e.g., lathe, electrical discharge machining)
• Strong knowledge of metalworking techniques and materials
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job orders
• Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity
• Familiarity with hand tools and basic assembly techniques
• Ability to operate a crane for material handling (preferred but not required)

Physical Demands:

• Frequent lifting of 50 lbs.
• Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and standing for 8 hours per day.
