CSG - The Global Talent Experts is Hiring a North West Quality Control Technical Manager Near Seattle, WA

CSG Talent are looking for experienced Senior Quality Control Manager to take the challenge of Technical Leadership of company's North West region concrete and quarry operations.
You will join highly experienced team of talented individuals at the very well performing mining and building materials company focusing on safety and continuous improvements.

Job Responsibilities:
Operations:

  • Oversee all technical aspects, including handling complaints/issues, within the regional concrete and quarry operations to ensure product quality and consistency.
  • Manage and deploy staff and equipment, working within budgets to maximize profitability while delivering exceptional products and customer service.
  • Promote responsibility and accountability for compliance with material production standards.
  • Prepare and review mix designs to ensure technical accuracy and commercial viability.
  • Develop and maintain an optimal sampling, testing, and quality control regime to manage risks and product quality within budget.
  • Establish and monitor product testing regimes, ensuring adherence to performance criteria and standards, and report on performance, particularly in testing precision and accuracy.
  • Research and develop raw material products to enable cost reduction and substitute materials.
  • Develop, monitor, and review inspection test plans (ITPs).
  • Provide concrete expertise within the professional environment.
  • Review and manage risk reports for the regional concrete and quarry operations.

Safety:

  • Collaborate with the Regional Safety Department to implement health and safety policies and ensure they are communicated across operations.
  • Ensure training programs are in place to optimize the safety management system.
  • Provide resources to managers, supervisors, and employees to promote safe and healthy work practices.
  • Review incident reports and respond as needed.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to and support the development of a proactive safety culture.

Commercial Excellence:

  • Ensure Quality Control/Technical team members are customer-focused.
  • Drive profitability through material sourcing, mix optimization, and product development.
  • Instill a quality mindset and customer service orientation throughout the team, encouraging regular interactions with internal and external customers.
  • Review tenders for concrete and quarry products and services.
  • Coach and guide team members to achieve the highest quality standards, including providing process personnel with tools to monitor and improve quality.
  • Develop and educate employees on "value selling tools" and create manuals/talking points for the sales force.
  • Stay updated on industry changes and innovations related to product quality and sustainability, and keep leaders and frontline employees informed.
  • Provide competent technical support to internal and external customers by assessing requirements, developing practical solutions, addressing product performance, and resolving concerns within agreed timeframes. Ensure technical objectives relating to service standards and product optimization are met.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with customers and regulatory authorities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Experience and Skills:

  • A post-secondary degree in a relevant field. A Master's or graduate degree is a plus.
  • Experience in a Technical/Quality Control role in the Heavy Building Materials industry or a related field (e.g., Materials Engineer).
  • Expertise in mix designs and optimization techniques to enhance product quality and performance.
  • Professional accreditations in the ready-mix concrete industry such as ACI or QCT credentials.
  • Familiarity with ACI, ASTM, DOT, and regional standards and specifications.
  • Technical knowledge of Heavy Building Materials (Concrete and Aggregates).
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in project and change management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong time management and critical thinking abilities.
  • Financial acumen skills are a plus.
  • A strong customer service and quality focus.
  • A valid WA or OR State Driver's license with a clean and insurable driving record.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $130,000.00 - $133,000.00 per year
