Description

The Commodity Trader Trainee will be mentored/trained to be responsible for commodity origination, logistics, marketing, and execution within assigned product(s) and/or location(s). In this role you will gain exposure to business operations, logistics, transportation, and supply chain to become a successful Trader. The Trader Trainee role allows the opportunity to learn and train under an experienced Merchandiser/Trader, eventually becoming an independent Commodity Trader. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Participate in the day-to-day operation at CSC

· Maintain a working knowledge of trading rules and regulations to be followed without exception.

· Arrange cost effective and efficient transportation of commodities

· Gain understanding of and assist with accounting functions necessary for location operation 

· Maintain Company’s reputation through careful and honest handling of customer/supplier relations

· Learn and apply Company credit management practices

· Develop new business development competencies

· Become well versed and knowledgeable of commodity transportation modes and their effect on commodity values

· Be able to find, gather, disseminate, and report regular data sets as well as ad hoc research reports 

· Understand, locate, and report on: industry competitors, market impacting news, and general information of interest 

· Understand all CSC Market regions

· Develop a strategy and business plan to trade a commodity 

· May include other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Business, and/or equivalent experience required. 
• High level of detail, multi-tasking, and problem solving
• Independent, self-motivated individual with organization, communication, and negotiation skills; commitment to continuous learning
• Strong customer service commitment
