Responsibilities
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
· Manage daily construction and inspection activities.
· Responsible for record keeping, payment entries, correspondence, and delivering of required reports.
· Attend various project meetings, record, and distribute meeting minutes.
· Review daily inspection reports and payment quantities in accordance with contract requirements.
· Prepare change orders for overruns, changed conditions and additional work.
· Review, log and coordinate with the designer to respond to Contractor's submittals, RFI's and shop drawings.
· Ensure that field staff have current construction documents.
· Perform QC/QA inspections for conformance to plans, proposals and specifications.
· Perform testing and sampling of materials and products used in construction. Ensure compliance with approved materials/specs.
· Reviewing site conditions, material placement, adherence to quality and safety plans.
· Writing detailed daily inspection reports including in place measurements, as-built sketches, quantity calculations and tracking of manpower/resources.
· Verifies that the quality of the work is acceptable and witnesses the acceptability of all field testing.
Requirements
Essential Skills and Experience:
· BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management Technology preferred.
· Ability to read drawings and specifications, write reports, create sketches, communicate and coordinate with the engineers, contractors, and clients.
· 10 or more years of experience
· NICET, OSHA-10 and OSHA-30 Certifications preferred.
· Strong oral and written communication skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word and Excel
· Prior experience with tunnel, structural or geotechnical is preferred.
· Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the Virginia preferred.
