CSA – Careers is Hiring a Systems Architect Near Norfolk, VA

CSA is currently seeking an experienced Systems Architect III to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) in Norfolk, VA. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and implementing effective systems architectures, contributing to our client’s success, and making a significant impact in the field. 

This position is contingent on award.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize extensive experience and judgment to independently plan and accomplish goals related to system architecture.
  • Provide top-level contributions and serve as a specialist in complex projects, offering consultation and guidance as needed.
  • Establish system information requirements in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems.
  • Determine high-level functional and technical requirements based on user interactions and knowledge of enterprise architecture.
  • Design architecture encompassing software, hardware, and communications to meet current and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces.
  • Identify, assess, and present options for meeting functional and technical requirements, including hardware and software updates or upgrades.
  • Develop high-level system design diagrams and ensure compatibility with open systems architecture standards.
  • Ensure compliance of the common operating environment with established standards.
  • Evaluate work flows, organization, and planning to identify and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Provide daily supervision and direction to staff members.
Qualifications
  • Minimum12 years of experience in the field or a related area within DoD/Navy programs
  • Strong familiarity with a variety of system architecture concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Proven track record of independently performing complex tasks and delivering successful results
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess requirements and develop effective architectural solutions
  • Ability to provide consultation and serve as a subject matter expert on complex projects
  • Experience leading and directing the work of others, including providing daily supervision and guidance
  • In-depth understanding of enterprise architecture principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in developing high-level system design diagrams and ensuring compliance with established standards
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • ITIL Foundation Level certification
  • DoD Secret-Level Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience supporting NAVSEA clients 
  • First-hand experience with Naval shipyard and/or Naval maintenance facilities
