Job SummaryAssist the Grounds Manager with the daily upkeep of the grounds of Crystal Mountain. Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrepare and grade terrain, apply fertilizers, seed and sod lawns, transplant shrubs and plants.Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, and shrubs, apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools.Plant new and repairs established lawns, using seed mixtures and fertilizers recommended for particular soil type and lawn location.Weed and grub around trees, bushes, and flower beds.Spray trees and shrubs, and applies supplemental liquid and dry nutrients to lawn and trees.Maintain a weed and litter free entrance area.Haul and spread topsoil, and spread straw over seeded soil to hold soil in place.Trim and pick flowers, and cleans flower beds. Water trees/flowers as necessary.Learn approved uses for and maintain landscaping tools.Report any guest problems, requests or complaints to your supervisor and follow up to resolve the issue if possible.Report any damage immediately to supervisor.Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saw.Mow grass or turf, using hand or power mower.Mix and spray or spread fertilizer, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, and trees, using hand or automatic sprayer or spreader.Water grass, shrubs, or trees, using hose or by activating fixed or portable sprinkler system, cultivate gardens.Condition and prepare soil for planting, using gardening tools.Remove leaves and other debris or litter from grounds, using rake, broom, or leaf blower.Other duties as assigned. Job SpecificationsCompetencies:Clear and concise verbal communication skills.Self-directed and able to maximize use of time, resources and technology.Able to analyze, interpret and present data in various formats.Dependable and meets goals.Exemplifies professional conduct and adherence to company Core Values.Education:High School Diploma or equivalent Physical & Other Requirements:While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
