Job Summary
The Bru Bar Barista is responsible for promoting coffee consumption by educating customers and preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks, along with pastries and cookies. The Bru Bar also serves a variety of beer, wine, and liquor.
Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Welcomes customers by determining their food and drink interests and needs.
• Educates customers by presenting and explaining the drink menu; answering questions.
• Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques such as expresso, caffe latte, and cappuccino.
• Generates revenues by attracting new customers; defining new and expanded services and products.
• Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies.
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs.
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
• Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes, implementing changes, maintaining and improving the appearance of the coffee bar.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.

Physical & Other Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and talk or hear.
• The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
• The employee is occasionally required to taste or smell.
• The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Evenings, weekends and holidays are a regular part of the schedule.
• Must have excellent attendance and conduct record for consideration.
