Crystal Finishing Systems Inc is Hiring a Production Support Powder 1st Shift Near Schofield, WI

General Summary:

Performs a variety of production support duties including, but not limited to loading, unloading, prepping, counting and packaging material safely and efficiently while maintaining high quality standards.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

RACKING

  • Loads material onto line in a safe manner with no damage to parts while maintaining a work pace equivalent to the line speed.
  • Selects appropriate load bar and racks based on length of part and product exposure, ensuring the most efficient processing. References die books if needed. Count out color change, temperature change, rework, and material gaps as required.
  • Preps material for finishing by sanding, buffing, or other appropriate tasks. Determine, based on defects, if material can be processed or needs to be scrapped. Consults Lead with questions or to notify them of significant quality issues.
  • Adhere parts to rack if necessary using clips, clamps, or tape to ensure parts do not detach from rack when going through wash system or blow-off and painting process.
  • Wipe off/blow off product before it enters the paint booth to ensure proper adhesion.
  • Loads used racks in burn-off oven, activates oven, and pressure washes parts when burn-off completed to remove any debris left on the racks.

UNLOADING

  • Removes parts and places on carts or other designation location using proper stacking procedures to prevent damage to parts.
  • Remove load bars and racks with or without a partner and place in appropriate storage container.
  • Inspects parts for quality defects and notifies QA Technician or Lead of any issues.
  • Stack and count parts for carts, bundles, trees, and mater packs; bundling them according to customer specification. May use plastic or foam materials to adequately package parts to prevent scratches or dents.
  • Apply poly-masking to parts as required to prevent scratching in shipment.
  • Touch up parts with spray paint or bottled paint.
  • Sand defects in parts and move to appropriate area to be reworked.
  • Accurately label product when finished processing for shipment. Notify Material Handler when package and labels are completed.

BLOW-OFF

  • Turn on blow off oven and fans for production.
  • Adjust air knives and fan speed based on size of material to ensure maximum wash blow-off.
  • Using air hose, blow off any remaining wash on inside and outside of material for optimum paint adhesion.
  • Inspect parts for dried on chemicals or water spots. Use alcohol, reverse osmosis water, sand paper, or scotch bright pads to remove these defects.
  • Start and stop automatic primer bells as needed for gaps in the line, or for one-sided applications.
  • Pick up “fell” material, inspect for damage and rehang or bring back to racking for rehanging.

SPECIAL PACKAGING

  • Responsible for packaging finished material in original containers or build containers to ensure safe and secure transport back to customer without damage.
  • Create and/or build custom wood packaging containers such as crates, skids, etc.; using appropriate tools such as tape measure, saw, and hammer.
  • Complete labor sheets for every job, tracking the labor hours and materials used, and give to Material ID.
  • Print Safety Data Sheets for each order and include in container.
  • Touch up products as needed using spray or bottle paint.
  • Inspect, count and identify parts for order accuracy, including “Cut to Size” material, and put in appropriate storage when necessary.
  • Prepare material for finishing by removing polymask and inspecting for damage. After finishing complete, helps apply polymask and sand parts.
  • Operates a forklift to move boxes, weighs material, labels outside of container, places material in shipping area and labels it ready to ship.
  • Takes pictures of material during packaging and when it is ready to ship for record-keeping.
  • Consults with Shipping Lead to coordinate packaging priorities.
  • Knowledge of production operations and experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to read, count, perform simple math equations and accurately measure is required.
  • Previous experience with small hand tools is beneficial.
  • Ability to work in a team or independently.
  • Previous work experience in production environments, paint line, extrusion press or warehouse is helpful.
