General Summary:

Performs cost accounting functions which require thorough knowledge of cost accounting methods, principles and practices. Provides Crystal Finishing with accurate and timely cost information and analysis while supporting finance and operational initiatives. Works closely with manufacturing to understand issues and how they impact the financial results as well as educate / inform department(s) on cost drivers and variances. The position also acts as a liaison with corporate financial staff as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare Weekly and Monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) by Department.
• Report out to Department Managers, Plant Managers, and periodically Senior Staff.
• Prepare analysis on production data within the KPI’s to the budgeted financials.
• Production Data Analysis – Research and explain variances.
• Analyze labor, raw material, and overhead cost on various production lines against budgeted standards.
• Review Labor Efficiencies (Direct & Indirect Time) on the manufacturing production line.
• Performs manufacturing floor reviews and analysis of direct material rework & scrap.
• Conduct customer profitability analysis across multiple product lines by department.
• Review departmental financials to ensure accurate costs and production estimates are used (actual vs standard costs).
• Work with Engineering to ensure accurate production standards and rates by department are being utilized.
• Work with Estimating/Quoting Department on cost estimates and projected gross margin of new parts or special products.
• Report out on and evaluate inventory and take part in the annual physical inventory.
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

Desired Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Three years of cost accounting and/or equivalent in manufacturing experience.
• Must be able to adapt to new and different computer programs and software to enable efficient data gathering and analysis.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work in a team or independently.
