JOB SUMMARY:

General Managers will ensure all members receive the highest quality Service and overall Experience in the Fitness Industry. General Managers need to demonstrate a competitive mindset through the achievement of financial targets for the club as outlined in the annual budget and monthly goals. The accomplishment of these items will be driven by the General Manager through leadership, training, and the development of all team members. The General Manager will demonstrate an aptitude to follow all company-wide policies and initiatives to ensure the integrity of our unique Core Values.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Willingness and desire to create a team learning environment and to foster a positive, fulfilling work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance department efficiency between sales and retention.
  • Supervisory/Leadership experience focused on coaching, mentoring, training, motivating, and developing team member performance.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to listen attentively and to communicate information clearly and effectively.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, collaborative, and relationship-building skills; ability to interact positively with teammates at various levels across the company and with customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional groups.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize workload and deliver quality results on time while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Current CPR

RESPONSIBILITIES – SALES AND OPERATIONS

SALES & REVENUE:

  • Achieve all sales goals and use reporting to assist in the daily management of sales achievements.
  • Open to coaching, constructive feedback, and reinforcement.
  • Execute all promotions to help generate new sales leads and build community involvement for optimum membership growth.
  • Utilization of prospecting and lead generation platforms.
  • Ensure that the staff is knowledgeable about the clubs’ goals, programs, facilities, and equipment.
  • Ensure pricing requirements and guidelines are always adhered to and communicated/executed by direct reports.

PERSONAL TRAINING:

  • Oversee the Personal Training department in conjunction with the Fitness lead.
  • Implement and support company programs/promotions to generate Personal Training client acquisition for member base penetration.
  • Integrate personal training services into membership presentations to maximize the number of orientation sessions scheduled and personal training services sold.
  • Effective communication with the personal training staff to ensure all staff is aware and follow all promotions, policies, and procedures.

OPERATIONS:

  • Perform 30–60-day earn reviews as directed by leadership.
  • Responsible for member retention and any items encompassing that responsibility.
  • Ensure the club meets standards for cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and security.
  • Oversees club maintenance and janitorial execution and compliance.
  • Inventory management and the system is in place and upheld.
  • Responsible for payroll accuracy, and compliance.
  • Control Labor expenses and the purchasing of club supplies and cost of retail goods.
  • Carries out the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and correcting employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

LEADERSHIP:

  • Serve as a role model for employees.

  • Communicates effectively by using regular team meetings and individual meetings.
