Cruise Control LLC is Hiring a Driving Instructor Near Las Vegas, NV

Cruise Control is an exciting new, behind-the-wheel driving school serving Las Vegas. We’re on a misson to help our neighbors and their families become great drivers so they get home safely… every single night! We are experiencing explosive growth and are seeking driving instructors who want to make a great living helping us fulfill this mission.

This is an incredibly rewarding endeavor in which we create true relationships with our students and their families, because we play a very important role in their lives. Our recipe for success is equal parts empathy, positivity, patience, and professionalism. And that’s not just with our students; that goes for our team, too. We truly “walk the walk” of creating the best work environment possible.

So, if you’re a great driver, who strives to achieve greatness and wants to help change peoples’ lives, we may be the place for you!

You DO NOT need prior experience as a driving instructor, because we can train you how to do it… We’re more interested in who you are than what you’ve done.

What it’s like to be a driving instructor

Being a driving instructor is honestly a lot of fun, and very rewarding. No two students are alike. You’ll take new drivers, most of whom recently obtained their driving permits, out in one of our vehicles for a two- hour lesson that teaches them the techniques for operating a motor vehicle, while simultaneously reinforcing their knowledge of the “rules of the road.”

Many of your students will be beginners, which means they’re naturally nervous. To help them build their confidence, we believe in a structured approach that first focuses on the basics of operating the vehicle, and then adding more complicated maneuvers as they’re ready to handle them. And unlike most other schools, we incorporate modern learning tools, including a proprietary scoring system and video support, to help our students achieve excellence in the shortest time possible. Part of your responsibility is to help them steadily progress by constantly motivating them to “up their game” with more complicated, real-world situations. We also believe in making this fun. Learning to drive is a huge milestone in most people’s life, so let’s enjoy it! With each lesson, you’ll see their nervousness gradually give way to confidence, which is very gratifying to experience.

Compensation

  • This is an independent contractor position that pays $50 for each two-hour lesson you teach ($25 per hour). The more lessons you teach, the more you make. For example, teaching 20 lessons per week (forty teaching hours) will pay $1,000 weekly ($52,000 annually).
  • When teaching, you’ll be covered under our insurance policies (including workers’ compensation coverage).

Scheduling

The beauty of being an independent contractor is that you can teach whenever you want. We have two blocks of classes every day of the week: three classes each morning, and two classes each afternoon. You can select any block of classes you wish.

Basic Qualifications / Requirements

  • A valid Nevada Driver's License and at least five-years driving experience (non-commercial).
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A DMV Driving History Report covering last 3-years (readily available at any DMV kiosk).

Training

We’ll provide you with an extensive training program that will set you up for success. That’s part of being a real team! Once you are trained, you’ll apply to become a licensed instructor at the NV DMV. We will shepherd you through this process, which primarily consists of an FBI background check, a written test, and a drive test conducted by the DMV (this is very much like our students’ process). Once you receive your license, you can begin teaching!
