CRP Industries Inc Conway is Hiring an ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN Near Conway, SC

CRP Industries is currently adding to our Electronic Power Steering Technician team! Our facility is conveniently located in Conway, SC in a climate controlled environment. CRP provides staff the opportunity to learn and grow with the team.

Perform initial diagnostic testing to determine cause and effect failure modes and to appropriately classify necessary repairs. Also assist in the final diagnostic testing of the repaired part to ensure the quality and proper function of the product prior to release for sale. Uses testing protocols and specialized testing equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot remanufactured components.

Essential Functions:

· Set up diagnostic testing equipment with the proper tooling and work SOPs for performing the required diagnostic procedures on the specific part to be tested.

· Power- off testing of boards. Operate ASA machine and map out boards

· Identify Electronic component failures 

· Solder and De-solder electrical components individual components without damaging critical core and underlying boards

· If required, connect any external diagnostic equipment to the main tester, such as Snap-on, TEXA or other diagnostic tools.

· The ability to read electrical wiring diagrams in order to correctly connect testing equipment to the various products to be tested.

· The ability to follow very detailed testing procedures and instructions in order to perform the diagnostic tests required to determine failure modes and or whether the part meets the required quality specifications.

· Use various types of testing equipment to read and erase any error codes found while performing diagnostic control testing.

· Determine proper functionality and verify that parameters such as pressure or motor current are within specified performance range.

· Collect and record appropriate notes for each part that fails the required testing criteria and tag parts according to the grading system in place.

· Keep testing are and equipment clean of any fluids or dust.

· Maintain required production / testing logs as required.

· Assist with new testing protocol developments by extracting vehicle data through CAN BUS interface protocols.

· Work with development team in trouble shooting and developing new testing capabilities.

Additional Responsibilities:

· Must follow standard operating procedures and written instructions.

· Assist in fulfilling orders

· Assist in part identification and alternative compatible parts

· Follow all company safety, compliance and housekeeping regulations in order to maintain a healthy work environment.

Requirements

· Technical degree with at least 4 years relevant experience in R&D Laboratory/Test environment or any combination of related education and experience.

· Excellent automotive electronic systems knowledge and experience.

· Experienced at MS Office applications with expertise in Excel

· Strong communication skills

· Strong organizational and multi-tasking capabilities.

· Team player with ability to manage projects in a timely manner

· Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools and electronic test equipment

· Understanding of Controller Area Network (CAN) communications and CAN terminology.

· Ability to perform testing and flashing of electronic power steering control units and experience with Pass Thru programming tools.

· Ability to identify and locate electronic components.

· Requires excellent logic problem solving skills and techniques.

· Experience in manufacturing environments with quality controls and measures

· Ability to balance work task performance in order to reach production metrics

· Working knowledge of electronic test equipment such as digital oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, power supplies, etc.

· Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams and technical manuals.

D. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • Laboratory and office environment. Daily use of wrists, hands, fingers, arms to use computer and phone. Ability to hear and speak clearly for gathering and giving simple to complex information to a group. May have to move boxes under 50lbs when investigating parts and/or stand on feet for long periods of time.
