Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide counseling and support to individuals struggling with substance abuse disorders, offering guidance and assistance throughout their recovery journey.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient assessments to determine treatment needs
- Utilize ICD-9 codes for accurate medical documentation
- Collect and analyze data related to patient progress and treatment outcomes
- Provide clinical counseling sessions to address underlying issues contributing to substance abuse
- Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Lead group therapy sessions to foster peer support and community engagement

Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
- Certification in substance abuse counseling is a must
- Proven experience in patient care within a clinical setting
- Proficiency in conducting patient assessments and developing treatment plans
- Strong knowledge of ICD-9 coding for medical documentation purposes
- Ability to facilitate group therapy sessions effectively
