Position Overview: Manage finished can inventory to facilitate on-site storage andprovide timely and accurate fulfillment of customer delivery requirements.
Duties And Responsibilities:
- Assemble cans for shipment in staging area and check packaging quality prior to shipment. Check quality of trailers prior to any loading activities. Load shipments of cans for customer delivery according to each customer’s specific requirements regarding product codes, packaging quality standards and loading procedures.
- Enter customer shipment and billing data into the computer and print bills of lading.
- Receive any incoming freight and ensure proper paperwork is supplied. Unload dunnage and other material and deliver to proper storage area.
- Perform all required inventories of stored product.
- Perform daily inspection and routine maintenance of fork lifts prior to start of shift.
- Maintain good housekeeping throughout entire warehouse area.
- Assist in other production areas as needed to maintain smooth can flow through plant.
- Enter and manage all releases
- Check in all Trucks to receiving dock and warehouse
- Print all Bill of Ladings
- Manage Dock Appointment Schedule
- Assist with communication with daily Carrier Issues i.e. late loads
- Enter in not on time in full shipments
- Cover for Warehouse Team Leader as needed.
- Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Ability to safely operate all warehouse and production forklifts and possess certification.
- Know how to fill tanks and do basic inspections of fork truck at shift start up.
- Knowledge and understanding of can sizes, lacquer finishes, pack sizes and quality specifications.
- Able to read and understand pallet tickets, date codes, and customer order sheets.
- Know how to complete the required paper work and recordkeeping from beginning to end of a shipment and why it is done that way.
- Understand individual customer product specifications, quality packaging requirements and H.F.I. procedures.
- Possess basic data entry computer skills
- Know how to operate and service the automated shrink wrapping machine.
- Knowledge of safety regulations which apply to forklift operation and material handling.
