Position Overview:
This is a dual position:
* The forklift operator ensures the packaging, handling, and shipment of a quality product that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
* The Palletizer Operator works independently

Location: Olympia, WA

Salary: $26.72 average/ per hour - Forklift Driver
$26.72 average/ per hour - Palletizer Operator

Forklift Operator duties and responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Plant Shipping Supervisor, the Forklift Driver/Operators responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:
* Ensures all equipment, guards, and safety devices are in place at all times, and follows safe work procedures and safety rules
* Operates sit-down propane forklift to transport inventory and load tractor trailers for shipment.
* Transports inventory in warehouse to correct locations and stages orders for shipment.
* Understands daily production schedule and corresponds with management, leads, and coworkers accordingly
* Performs visual inspection of aluminum cans and packaging quality
* Monitors schedules, equipment, or processes, and reports problems to Supervisor
* Follows all SOP's (standard operating procedures) and communicates with proper personnel as concerns or issues arise
* Assist Quality Assurance in locating pallets for sampling
* Performs other related duties as required

Palletizer Operator Duties and Responsibilities:
The Palletizer Operator is an entry-level position will be responsible for operating automatic can palletizing equipment to pattern and/or transfer cans to and from pallets.

* Minimum 18 years old
* High School diploma or G.E.D preferred
* Equivalent with 3 years working on a sit-down forklift experience required.
* Working in a manufacturing setting (high-speed manufacturing is preferred).
* Must be able to withstand extreme climate changes especially during summer and winter months.
* Effective and proven communication skills (both written and verbal) working in a team environment.
* Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks at the same time.
* Effective record keeping skills and the ability to focus on details
* Must be able to stand for prolonged periods as well as work on elevated stationary platforms and withstand extreme climate changes especially during summer months.
* Demonstrated strong attention to detail, good record keeping, and precision abilities is highly desirable.
* Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, either nights from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., or days from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., weekends and overtime as business needs dictate.
* This position requires union membership after 30 days of hire.

Preferred Requirements
* OSHA/Forklift Trainer Certified
* Beverage Packaging industry experience
* Knowledge of AS400
