Job Overview

We are looking for a visionary Brand Strategist to craft client brand stories and build executions that are audience-led, insights driven, measurable, and on-brand. Combining rich insights through a lens that is both analytical in approach and creative in application enables the team to collaborate around key data to devise ground-breaking short- or long-term strategy that positions the brand to achieve their KPIs. The Brand Strategist will seek to deliver ideas and concepts that set our clients apart from others, creating a strong and/or unique position for market growth and recognition across channels. As Brand Strategist/Planner, you will work within the Strategy team and play a central role in leading qualitative data mining efforts including conducting audience research studies and developing campaign strategy for both entertainment and brand clients. The ideal candidate has a traditional brand planner background within an agency and is a gifted writer/storyteller.

Job Responsibilities

  • Storyteller - Uses their storytelling skills to craft engaging campaigns that lead to compelling briefs and big ideas for brands/clients.
  • Big Thinker - Uses strategic thinking to develop big-picture campaign architecture and develop messaging that aligns with a brand’s goals and objectives.
  • Future Focused - Follows and predicts trends in order to develop strategies that succeed in a changing marketplace and the ability to anticipate shifting consumer customer profiles.
  • Thought Leader - Writes/develops POVs on culture and trends for clients and external marketing.
  • Insights Led - Conducts research on clients’ current marketing strategies, customer profile, and market share to develop a strong sense of strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities to improve brand positioning. 
  • Executor - Devises and executes unique qualitative research exercises and uncovers the right quantitative data to cull deep, rich insights that feed and lay the foundation for compelling brand and execution strategies.
  • Collaborator - Strategically partners with Accounts, Business Development, and other key internal partners to create seamless workflows and deliver exceptional results for our clients.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 4 years’ experience within a brand strategy and/or account planning role
  • Agency planning experience on a brand account is preferred
  • Client facing experience is required
  • Proven track record of successfully leading projects from conception to execution 
  • Powerful communicator across the board (written, interpersonal, presentation) and strong storytelling ability
  • Strong presence with the ability to work a room, present well, and deliver information in a trustworthy manner
  • Can communicate a strong and developed POV - we're looking for a leader who our clients can trust
  • Meticulous, collaborative, patient, level headed, able to work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude
  • Experience with audience research and social listening tools
  • Works collaboratively with strategy and creative team and cross-departmentally as well as independently
  • Creatively inclined and comfortable leading brainstorms and creative thinking
  • Comfortable rolling up sleeves and building out decks
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced high pressure environment
  • A work ethic powered by entrepreneurial spirit
  • Social media experience is a plus
