Job Description:

The Role

The Assistant Director, Strategic Sourcing - Process Excellence will be responsible for the creation and management of the tools, methods, technologies, metrics, reporting, tracking, policies, and communications with our internal stakeholders and suppliers.

The manager will be responsible to develop and communicate the roles and responsibilities of the strategic sourcing team as it relates to our internal stakeholders and the management of sourcing strategies and procurement initiatives.

You will work closely with the Strategic Sourcing team, as well as cross-functional teams across the business, to be an architect in the design and execution of the strategic sourcing organization. Strong project management, strategic sourcing, supplier management, and advanced MS Office 360 experience in a professional services/high indirect spend multi-site enterprise are critical to the position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the cadence and mechanisms to track the value the strategic sourcing team is delivering in partnership with our stakeholders
  • Development and compliance to sourcing policies, regular reporting reviews of critical sourcing projects and communications to our stakeholders of our activities and progress
  • Lead the development of our supplier expectation policies, evaluation, and goals related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)
  • Evaluate eprocurement tools (internal and external) as well as procurement best practices in the Indirect categories industry and lead the implementation of these methods for improved value to our stakeholders and suppliers
  • Participate/lead the Strategic Sourcing team in company initiatives that impact procurement, suppliers, and/or sourcing.
  • Create standard tools, metrics, processes, methods, policies, and roles in the effective execution of the strategic sourcing team in partnership with stakeholders, the strategic sourcing organization and suppliers
  • Standardize and train users in the strategic sourcing process steps, associated tools, and roles for sourcing and category strategy processes.
  • Develop standard processes for ideation workshops, supplier management, and category strategy templates and tool sets
  • Develop standardized reporting of the sourcing team’s activities and sourcing projects
  • Partner with Legal and the Contract Management teams to manage the supplier contracting process including standardized processes, templates, strategies, and metrics as well as identifying our contracting strategy with suppliers
  • Work closely with Finance and Data Analytics teams to develop spend analytics, project tracking, supplier databases
  • Develop standardized category strategy, classification, segmentation, project funnel development, savings definition, value metrics, best practices, project reviews, project stage definitions, project reviews, and ideation workshops protocols across the Strategic Sourcing team and train the stakeholders in the use of these tools
  • Obtain cross functional buy in and support for new policies and processes that will ensure compliance to sourcing and procurement policies that will help the company be more profitable and successful, while meeting stakeholder expectations
  • Evaluate current processes utilized in the company in relation to sourcing and procurement, become a subject matter expert in these tools for the sourcing team.
  • Evaluate external and industry best practices tools, policies, metrics, processes in the Indirect spend industry and implement as appropriate
  • Create and maintain reporting dashboards to identify metrics that track the strategic sourcing team’s impact on driving value and savings for our stakeholders
  • Develop supplier scorecards and supplier award programs in recognition of outstanding performance to Crowe
  • Develop supplier expectations policies
  • Develop a supplier portal
  • Analyze and highlight risk management in our supply base and policies; recommend and implement changes and on-going monitoring tools and metrics in risk of supply and execution
  • Track procurement policy compliance and publish metrics for improvement and training.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8 Years of Strategic Sourcing/Procurement experience and proven accomplishments in Process Excellence of a Strategic Sourcing team in a large company setting highly focused on Indirect spend categories (IT, HR, Travel, Marketing, Legal, Financial)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Science, Supply Chain or related degrees.
  • Strong knowledge and use of structured category management process steps, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management processes.
  • Ability to interface at all levels of the organization
  • Strong communication tools in written and verbal form
  • Ability to engage with team members and collaboratively develop new tools across the organization related to strategic sourcing
  • Knowledge and experience with best practice processes, tools, and procurement/spend systems data and analysis.
  • Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel
  • Power BI familiarity
  • Word and PowerPoint proficiency
  • Familiarity of procure-to-pay tools.
  • Eprocurement tools experience (iCertis, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS Office 360 – TEAMS
  • Experience working in a consulting or regulatory industry
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Procurement, Project Management certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPM, CPSM, CIRM, CPIM, PMP)
  • Leading stakeholders new to strategic sourcing methodology, roles, and benefits

Travel and Location

  • Travel is expected to be <10% and location is Remote eligible.
