Position Summary:Provides support and assistance to the Principal.Develops, supervises, and provides oversight for special education services.Provides oversight for behavior management and discipline in the school and oversees the smooth and effective management of the school day and ensures the best educational and safest environment for students.Provides direct supervision for the Educational Supervisors and assigned teachers/staff.Qualifications:Masters degree in Special Education or related field.Must hold a valid NH certification in Assistant Principal and/or Special Education Administrator.Two years special education classroom experience (with a minimum of two)A minimum of one year of supervisory experienceEssential Functions:Established and promotes a positive relationship between Crotched Mountain School and local school systems and outside agencies.Ensures that services are delivered as outlined in the Individual Educational Program.Coordinates the monitoring of Special Education student records according to federal Reviews and monitors all progress reports.Works with the Principal to develop and implement appropriate in-service activities related to special education services for teachers.Observes, consults with, and coaches classroom teachers in their instructional and classroom performance as it relates to special education accommodations and services.Assists in classroom observation and evaluation of special education teachers.Keeps informed of special educational laws, innovations, and trends.Proposes and assists Principal with student classroom assignments.Responsible for, oversees, monitors, and provides supervision for an effective, efficient, and safe operation of the school day.Oversees appropriate school activities, including, but not limited to, prom, graduation, and holiday celebrations.
