Head Start/Early Head Start Staff Counselor

Crossroads Youth & Family Services, Inc. is seeking a Head Start/Early Head Start Staff Counselor for its Union Street location in Pottawatomie County. The Head Start/Early Head Start Staff Counselor provides direct mental health services to the children and performs direct clinical services involving individual, family, and group counseling while maintaining the highest level of professionalism.

Education Experience License and Knowledge

Education/Experience:

• Completion of a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Human Relations or a related field with an emphasis in clinical work including two (2) semesters of internship or practicum;
• Experience in Pre-K counseling preferred;
• Two (2) year post-degree full-time employment in a position providing direct clinical services;
• Must be licensed or Under Supervision

License:

• Must possess a valid Driver’s License and have access to a motor vehicle with acceptable liability insurance

Knowledge:

• Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal and analytical skills required;
• Must be knowledgeable in computers and other basic office equipment;
• Knowledge of community resources, methods and practices of health and safety precautions, providing age-appropriate education services and facilitating family involvement in program services.
