The Dispensing Nurse Supervisor is responsible for supervising the OTP Coordinator and Dispensing Nurses, measuring and dispensing methadone and other medications according to doctor’s orders, FDA, DEA, and DBH regulations, and assuring proper maintenance of medical records and other documents within the OTP clinic and program.
All positions require pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for ordering, receipting, dispensing, and record-keeping medication according to applicable rules and regulations. Supports patient treatment through coordination with program supervisors and counselors, assuring that all medication is dispensed correctly by physician orders.
Responsible for dosing and documenting all methadone doses within scheduled clinic hours.
Report inconsistencies and problems regarding handling controlled substances to the Agency SUD Director.
Scheduling and supervision of assigned staff.
Provide direction and support to assigned staff.
Maintains a clean, safe work area and immediately reports potential hazards to the supervisor and other appropriate personnel.
Complies with communicable disease procedures when performing phlebotomy for HIV testing.
Observe patients for urinalysis as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
LPN license from the state of Colorado or a multistate institution with some classes in a human service area such as psychology.
Experience:
Prefer prior experience in the substance abuse field.
Other:
Knowledge of applicable laws regarding medication dispensing, storage, and accountability.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
It may require bending and lifting. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Works in a methadone dispensing clinic.
